The British Ring is part of The International Brotherhood of Magicians (IBM), which is the world's largest organization for magicians boasting nearly 15,000 members worldwide. With over 300 local groups, called Rings, in more than 73 countries, the IBM is considered to be the most respected organization for amateur and professional magicians, magical enthusiasts, and collectors of magical apparatus in the world! 
The British Ring was founded in 1928 by Oswald Rae the other founder members being Prof Bofeys, W W Kemp, Nelson Denys, Joe Rendell, C Ducarel and G H Turner, and is the largest Ring of The International Brotherhood of Magicians with close to 2,000 members.
The British Ring keeps in touch with members through a monthly magazine called ‘The Budget’, which includes news of interest to members, reviews, advertisements from Magical Dealers, and tricks. For membership details click here.
We meet once a year at our Annual Convention held in September where magicians from around the world gather to entertain and instruct us. In addition to our Annual Convention the President organises a Presidential Dinner which usually takes place around April and is held in the President’s home area.
The parent body, The International Brotherhood of Magicians, founded in 1922 by Len Vintus, Gene Gordon and Don Rogers, is governed by elected officers and a board of trustees, and headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Full members of the parent body receive ‘The Linking Ring’ monthly, a publication of around 180 pages featuring tricks, reviews, Ring reports, historical articles, and advertisements by magic dealers from around the world.
